We are so excited to welcome Lazy Dog Restaurant to San Mateo! We have been awaiting this opening for quite some time! If you’re a San Mateo resident, you know we have lost a fair number of restaurants in the past few years– even before the pandemic hit. When we heard Lazy Dog would be opening in the Bridgepointe Shopping Center, we watched their instagram feed for updates and checked on construction progress with every Target trip we made.
This past weekend Lazy Dog San Mateo welcomed a handful of patrons for a soft opening and we were lucky enough to snag a table. Our meal was delicious, the vibe was lively and loud enough that our kids could use their version of “indoor voices” without constant shush-ing; a total win-win if you’re a parent.

While any new restaurant always has a few kinks to work out, the service was great and food was solid for our first visit to Lazy Dog San Mateo. Everyone from the manager to bussers checked on us and our server was knowledgeable and friendly. We’re hoping to make it back for brunch soon, and really have our eyes on the fried hush puppies!
Lazy Dog San Mateo, officially opens tomorrow, May 25th, 2022. We welcome them to the neighborhood, with open arms, and we cannot wait to visit again soon!
