Team Tapper Reviews: Palo Alto Players’ Allegiance at The Lucie Stern Theater

Palo Alto Players on Stage in Allegiance

We recently had the privilege of attending opening night of the Palo Alto Players’ Allegiance, at the Lucie Stern Theater. Allegiance is inspired by the true childhood experiences of actor George Takei, and tells the story of the Kimura family, who are forced out of their Salinas, California farm after the events at Pearl Harbor. The family joins 120,000 Japanese-Americans in internment camps throughout America during that time. The young Sam Kimura sets out to show his dedication to America by fighting for his country, while his sister Kei fights against the government’s treatment of their fellow Japanese-Americans. This powerful story gave us an important glimpse into family customs, lives lost, love across racial divides, living through war and fighting for what you believe in.

We strongly encourage you to grab tickets and see this production, playing just two more weekends.

Shoutout to our friend, Bryan Pangilinan, who plays Tatsuo Kimura with grace and dedication.

Bravo to the entire cast on a successful opening weekend!
